![]() ![]() Thank you for any suggestions an thank you all from QNAP for your work done that made this fantastic box possible. It’s an open-source and free FTP client software. Alternatively you can change the mount point of the storage drive from /media/Store to somewhere inside your FTP folder hierarchy, but this will cause it to disappear from Nautilus's. If you’re looking for an FTP client software, then Cyberduck can be a better option. Unfortunately symlinks (that point outside the FTP user's chroot folder) are not supported unless you build from source using the -with-virtualchroot switch. I am using a TS-109 with release 1.1.5 0128T. Cyberduck is one of the most easy-to-use FTP client software for Windows and Mac. Or is there another way of achieving that?Ĭan this feature (ShowSymLinks=on) be implemented in future versions of the system? I think it is quite useful for making ftp root to some extent independent from the shares on the NAS. I'd like to link the folders a user is allowed to access (which are situated on different shares) into a share this user has full permission to access. Feb 25, 2021, 9:43 PM Hi, After research, it seems theres no standard FTP command to create symlink. ![]() I would like to use symbolic links to set up user roots in FTP which are different from the shares on the NAS, because I don't want to give all users full access to all data on a particular share. Is that right? If so, is the use of symbolic links risky in some way? Open the two FTP folders in the two panels of Forklift Select. ![]() It seems to me that there are default settings saved somewhere else than in the nf which are copied into the nf file every time the server is restarted. FXP Copy makes it possible to transfer the data directly between the two servers. I tried setting this option from off to on, but this change is discarded every time I restart the FTP daemon or the NAS. Next, type the following command to open the snort configuration file in gedit text editor: sudo gedit /etc/snort/nf. See the image below (your IP may be different). Note the IP address and the network interface value. To make symbolic links appear in FTP, too, there seems to be the option "ShowSymLinks" in the nf file. First, enter ifconfig in your terminal shell to see the network configuration. By default, symbolic links are shown on Windows Explorer, but not on FTP. Opening Domains > File Manager fails with a warning: Symlinks out of webspace are prohibited /: Access to realpath denied: /var/. As discussed in this thread, I tried to make symbolic links available in FTP server. ![]()
